My pretty girl

Practicing for ballet class..looks like a natural to me.

Cooking

Washing her bike

A few months ago I posted that the three's were brutal. Well, I am happy to report that all that crazy behavior is gone and she is doing fantastic. She has changed so much in just the past few months. She is such a super kid. She is so funny, creative and smart. She amazes with her problem solving skills, independence and vocabulary. She loves to play mommy to her babies and is so kind. We are so proud of her.

Indian Ruins

Within our neighborhood of Tonto Hills we have Indian ruins that date back 600 years. The couple that lives on this 6 acres have over 30 years restored and built back a lot of the walls of this once occupied village. We went over there the other day for a tour. Frank and Thelma are 88 and 89 years old and going strong. Alexa enjoyed looking at all their plants. When we were done Thelma invited us in for a glass of ice tea and cookies. Alexa had picked some seeds and pods from outside and had them in her hand when we went in. Thelma ( who was a little scary to Alexa) asked to see what Alexa had and Alexa said "First put your hands behind your back and I will show them to you" It cracked me up and I wasn't sure how Thelma was going to take that, but sure enough she put her hands behind her back and Alexa showed her.

Last Day of School

Today was Alexa's last day of preschool. Here she is with her teacher Ms. Jodi whom we loved. It was a school year filled with learning and many fun times. Alexa learned how to be away from Robert and me and to trust she will be okay, she made new friends ( so did mom) and she learned many new things. Her biggest struggle was learning how to listen and take direction from her teachers and I think she made great strides. She is confident and such an open willing learner. I hope she always loves school as much as I did.

Alexa's Family

Alexa made this on her MagnaDoodle today. From right to left, Alexa, Mommy, Daddy, Poh Poh, and Papa. I guess we are the jellyfish family. ; )

Beastie and Mrs. Stubbs

Well, out pet count is up to five now. A couple of months ago we were " gifted" ( they are illegal to sell or buy) two desert tortoises. These three pics are of Beastie ( my favorite) . Mrs.
Stubbs ( she has 3.5 legs and is 55 yrs. old) is a little shy so did not want her pic taken. They live in our front courtyard and we feed them and give them water. They like bok choy, romaine, carrots and pears. In the winter they hibernate and we will most likely put them in our garage because it gets pretty cold up here. They love to walk around when it is hot out. As you can see from this photo, Beastie is pretty intent on getting in the house to be with us. He scratches on the front door. Because we are not sure how the 3 dogs will take to them we have not and most likely will not introduced them although the dogs are totally perplexed at watching them through the window. Alexa really is good at taking care of them and sings to them as well as hand feeds Beastie. They are much more social and fun then I ever thought and they are part of our family now. What next?......

Alexa X2

Today we had a playdate at the park with our girlfriends Dani and her daughter Alexa( how funny is that). We met them when the girls were little in our music class. Alexa is a year younger than my Alexa. They are so cute together and love to hold hands and share.
